Messaging Terms & Conditions

Effective July 30, 2026

These terms apply only to the text-message (SMS) community-announcement program operated by Hisachdis Avreichim D'Bobov ("we," "us," or "the program") for members of our community in Boro Park, Brooklyn, New York.

Consent to receive automated or prerecorded telephone calls is requested and documented separately and is not covered by these SMS Terms.

Program description

Members who opt in receive recurring informational community announcements from authorized program administrators. Messages may include:

Simcha notices, such as births and mazel tov announcements
Community-event notices and reminders
Schedule changes

This SMS program does not send marketing, advertising, sponsorships, fundraising solicitations, or third-party promotional content.

How to opt in

Members enroll by giving express verbal consent specifically for SMS before any text message is sent. Consent may be collected:

In person by authorized staff or the gabbai at the shul, located at 1533 48th St, Brooklyn, NY 11219; or
During a live telephone conversation with an authorized Hisachdis Avreichim D'Bobov representative.

Hisachdis may initiate the call, or members may call +1 929-564-9044. This number is printed on cards distributed at Hisachdis events.

Before requesting consent, the representative explains:

The types of text messages the member may receive
That message frequency varies
That message and data rates may apply
That the member may reply STOP to opt out
That the member may reply HELP for help
That consent is optional and is not a condition of membership or any purchase

Only a clear affirmative response is accepted. Merely possessing a member's telephone number for general community records is not considered SMS consent.

We document the member's name, mobile number, affirmative response, date and time, consent method, staff initials, and the version of the consent script used. After consent is obtained and documented, the member receives a confirmation SMS.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply, depending on the member's mobile carrier and plan. Hisachdis Avreichim D'Bobov does not charge members for these messages.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any SMS message at any time to stop receiving text messages. You will receive one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed. No further SMS messages will be sent unless you opt in again.

Privacy

Your information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Mobile information and SMS consent will not be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for promotional or marketing purposes.

Carrier liability

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date shown above reflects the latest version.
